Are we talking about the Roland Space Echo and the newer released twin pedal? I have an RE-201 that is pretty amazing but it's not a pedal so it's not easy to lug around. The twin pedal that is supposed to sound like the Space Echo does a decent job but there seems to be something missing when compared to my RE-201. A sort of dynamics or something.
I would say you probably couldn't build the twin pedal as it's digital and you would have to be able to program chips not to mention have the code Boss uses. If you've ever seen a RE-201 in person and maybe even the insides of one, I would say it's a REALLY ambitious build. To the point if you have to ask how or if it's possible, you probably couldn't build it.

I know Boss is popular but no thanks for me, hate their buffers and no true bypass.

What's wrong with their buffers?
