All,
Didn't know what catagory to put this in so I've used this one. There are many descriptive words used for how something sounds. Has anybody got any commonly used descriptions that we can agree on an engineering definition of. Sound can be altered using frequency response, phase, amplitude and harmonic content. Putting aside delay for moment. For example: Warm tone i.e. a nice valve amp. Could this be purely refering to lower order harmonics i.e. distortion that is not percieved as distortion but only a change in tone. But then again is anybody really that interested in this stuff ?? Any other good descriptions I can try to get a handle on ?? |
