Default Hog volume mode-is this behaviour normal?

Hi!

Yesterday I tried to use my HOG as a regular volume pedal, with only the ?original? slider up. No other octaves activated and no filter.
What I noticed is, that the sound with the volume pedal in toe down position (100% volume) is as clear and ?original? as the dry signal. But when I slightly decrease the volume with the pedal, the sound is rather synthetic. As already mentioned, only the ORIGINAL slider is up. If I add some octaves and move the volume pedal, the ?original? signal on toe down position sounds like the dry signal, but the other octaves donīt. They always have that synthetic sound. I hope, you understand, what I try to explain?

So, why does the signal of the ?original? slider sound as crispy and clear as the dry signal, at 100% volume in the ?volume? mode?
And why does it sound ?synthetic? again, when the pedal is moved only 1 mm towards toe up position?
In all other modes, like octave down, filter, wah, the sound of the ?original? voice is always slightly synthetic.

I hope, someone can answer my question.
Maybe someone can try this on his own HOG and then tell me, how his unit behaves.

Best regards,
Daniel
