Glad to help. I toss what I have learned from a lot of years of pedal boards, chances are if you have a question about effects I can offer some decent notions. OD after will sound better, depends on how you use your OD but in general envelope triggers like wahs sound better before dirt. The dirt after will absorb and intensify the effect. If you are after that funk dynamic wah wack then clean is cool. If the guitar has enough pickup drive you have no problems sounds like your issue with volume means you have high power pickups. I prefer single coils w effects myself. Have you tried rolling off your guitar vol a little especially if you are using HBs? Envelop filters also tend to sound better using the beefer warmer neck tone pickup.
